overview
This 6 days, 5 nights Tanzania safari package takes you deep into three of Africa’s most iconic and contrasting destinations: Ruaha National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous). Begin your adventure in Ruaha, a remote and untouched wilderness famous for its large lion prides, elephants, and dramatic landscapes. Next, descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places to spot the Big Five in a single day. Conclude your safari in Nyerere National Park, Africa’s largest protected reserve, where game drives, boat safaris, and unspoiled scenery create the ultimate safari finale. This carefully curated itinerary is perfect for travelers seeking a mix of raw wilderness, world-renowned landscapes, and rich wildlife encounters.

Day 1:
Iringa - Ruaha National Park
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive or flight into Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s hidden gem. On arrival, check into your lodge or camp nestled in the park. After lunch, head out for your first game drive across Ruaha’s vast landscapes dotted with baobab trees, rocky outcrops, and sweeping savannahs. Spot elephants, antelopes, giraffes, and predators such as lions and leopards. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.
Day 2:
Ruaha National Park
Spend a full day exploring the wilderness of Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s second-largest national park. Known for its large elephant herds, over 570 bird species, and superb predator sightings, Ruaha offers exceptional safari experiences. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, or opt for a full-day drive with picnic lunch in the bush. Keep an eye out for wild dogs, cheetahs, kudu, and buffaloes as you traverse different ecosystems. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and stargazing by the campfire.
Day 3:
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, depart Ruaha and journey to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim, offering breathtaking panoramic views into the caldera. After check-in and lunch, enjoy a relaxed afternoon – take a guided nature walk along the crater rim or visit a traditional Maasai village, where you’ll learn about their culture and coexistence with wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge overlooking Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 4:
Ngorongoro Crater
Today is dedicated to exploring the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, a natural amphitheater teeming with wildlife. Descend 600 meters into the crater floor, where lush grasslands, woodlands, and lakes support a dense population of animals. Here, you may encounter the Big Five — lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and the rare black rhino. Bird enthusiasts will marvel at flamingos, pelicans, and other waterbirds on the crater lakes. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the hippo pool before continuing your game drive. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 5:
Ngorongoro - Nyerere National Park (Selous)
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nyerere National Park, Africa’s largest game reserve. On arrival, enjoy a short transfer to your camp or lodge followed by lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an abundance of birdlife. The experience of watching wildlife from the water offers a refreshing contrast to traditional game drives. Dinner and overnight at your camp inside or near the park.
Day 6:
Game Drive & Departure
Wake up early for a morning game drive in Nyerere, where lions, wild dogs, giraffes, and zebras roam freely across the vast plains. Return to the lodge for breakfast and some leisure time before preparing for your transfer back to Dar es Salaam for departure. This marks the end of your unforgettable 6 days Tanzania safari, filled with thrilling game drives, breathtaking landscapes, and lasting memories.
